Is virtual school the same thing as homeschool?

Homeschool is your choice of time, schedule, curriculum, testing and teaching. Homeschool allows you to create the atmosphere you wish your child to be educated in. Using a virtual school, someone other than the parent is responsible for selecting the curriculum, calendar, schedule, testing and ultimately the education of your child. There are several types of online schools that are usually part of either a public or private school, in many states this is free. Like an online public school at home. Also there are many virtual private schools that offer online tuition-based, K-12 programs. Essentially they are online private school at home. These can be viable option for some parents and children, just remember that they will require you to adhere to their defined school districts curriculum, testing, costs, tuition, rules and schedule/calendar.
